Weather Typeface

Edited in Photoshop, composed in InDesign.

This project was to create an entirely new typeface around a specific profession. I chose to model mine after a made-up meteorologist named Wayne Greene. The focus of the project was to convey the personality traits and career of the person in mind.

My typeface borrowed inspiration from typefaces designed in the 70s. I wanted the letters to be designed around rounded squares, and to capture mellow, friendly vibes. I was influenced by universal weather symbols for clouds, sun, and rain, and I wanted my typeface to have similar simplicity and precision.

Below is the final editorial spread I designed using my typeface.
